Pokrov is a city in southern Ukraine with a rich history stretching back millennia. The Scythian gold pectoral, a masterpiece of jewelry art, was discovered here, and the land has witnessed the lives of the Cimmerians, Scythians, Goths, and other nomadic peoples. The city originated in the 19th century due to the development of manganese ore deposits and has a strong connection to the Cossack history of the Zaporozhian Sich.
