Uzhhorod is the smallest regional capital city in Ukraine, located on the banks of the Uzh River at the foot of the Carpathian Mountains. A city with a rich history, founded in the 9th century, it has experienced rule under Hungary, Austria-Hungary, and Czechoslovakia.
