Big Cat Rescue, in Florida, is a sanctuary dedicated to the rescue and rehabilitation of exotic and native felines. Founded in 1995, it houses over 50 animals of various species such as lions, tigers, and bobcats. While previously open to the public with guided tours, it is currently closed due to the COVID-19 pandemic, with reopening being considered. It is known for its awareness work and fight against private ownership of big cats, and participates in international initiatives to protect these animals. The sanctuary gained notoriety from the Netflix documentary "Tiger King."
