The Volksparkstadion in Hamburg is the home stadium of HSV and a historic football stadium with a capacity of up to 57,000 spectators. Opened in 1953 and extensively renovated between 1998 and 2000, it hosts Bundesliga matches as well as concerts and other large events. The stadium has previously hosted FIFA World Cup and European Championship matches, as well as the 2010 Europa League final, and is known for its atmosphere and eventful history, including several name changes.
