The City Gate of Valletta, Malta, has been rebuilt five times throughout history. The current gate, designed by Renzo Piano and completed in 2014, stands out for its modern steel and stone structure, creating an opening in the bastions. Preceded by gates of various styles, from the original Porta San Giorgio in 1569 to a rationalist version demolished in 2011, the City Gate marks the beginning of Republic Street and is located near the House of Parliament and the ruins of the Royal Opera House. A significant access point and a symbol of the city’s architectural evolution.Wikipedia
