Babiččino údolí is a national natural and cultural monument in the Královohradecký kraj region, best known as the setting for Božena Němcová’s novel, Babička. Beyond its cultural significance, it offers diverse nature with protected flora and fauna, including rare plant and animal species. The Úpa river flows through the valley, and unique tufa springs can be found here. The area is complemented by the Rozkoš Reservoir and the historic castles in Náchod and Nové Město nad Metují.
