Boubín is the fifth highest peak of the Czech Šumava mountains and the dominant mountain of the South Bohemian Region, steeped in myths and legends. At the summit (1617 m) you’ll find a new wooden observation tower with breathtaking panoramic views of Šumava and into Bohemia, and on clear days even of the Alps. The Boubín area is also known for its primeval forest, over 12,000 years old, and historically was a site of logging and smuggling. Hiking trails lead to the summit from several directions, for example from Kubova Huť or Vimperk.Wikipedia
