Satoka, located in the Ukrainian Oblast Lwiw, is a historical place with roots dating back to the late 18th century. Founded in 1786 as the German-speaking village of Ottenhausen by 29 settler families from Saarland and Rhineland-Palatinate, they were brought here by the Austrian government. The colonists received land and initially enjoyed privileges. Over time, the population composition changed, and by 1939, alongside Germans, Polish, Ruthenian, and Jewish families lived here. Before World War II, the German population was largely resettled. Today, Satoka is part of the settlement community of Iwano-Frankowe.
