Krynky is a village in the Kherson region, famous for writer Ostap Vyshnia, who vacationed here twice, hunting and fishing, and expressed his fondness for Krynky with the phrase “Some go to Crimea, but I go to Krynky.” The Vyshnia Memorial Museum-Estate operated in the village and was restored in 2020, but was flooded after the destruction of the Kakhovka Dam in 2023. Unfortunately, Krynky suffered greatly from Russian aggression: the village was occupied, flooded, and became a battlefield, resulting in its complete abandonment. Fighting is currently ongoing in the area around the village. Wikipedia
