Ruska Poliana is an ancient Hutsul village in Romanian Maramureș, founded in 1353 and located near the Ukrainian border. The village has a rich history, having been a border between the Kingdom of Hungary and Galicia, as well as a place of residence for Ukrainian Greek Catholics. Here you can see remnants of fortifications from World War II and visit the picturesque glacial lake Vinderel. Traditionally, the villagers were engaged in sheep farming, crafts, and woodworking, and today many work abroad. Locals speak Rusyn and Romanian, preserving unique customs and traditions.Wikipedia
