České Velenice, a town in the South Bohemian Region on the border with Austria, has a rich history connected to the railway. It originated from the merging of settlements in connection with the construction of a significant railway hub in Austria-Hungary. After World War I, it became part of Czechoslovakia, which led to changes in borders and its name. The town was bombed during the war and reconstructed afterwards, but the Iron Curtain limited its development. Today, České Velenice is a modern town with a railway station, schools, and renovated infrastructure, easily accessible by road and rail.Wikipedia
